OUR STORY
THE FORMATION OF
ABU ALUMNI - since 1980.
The formation of the ABU Alumni Association started sometimes in the early part of the 80's in Zaria, where the University is located, and Lagos, the then seat of the Federal Government being among the leading branches. It was not until 2002 when a unified Constitution of the Association was drafted and passed by the General Assembly which is the highest organ of the Association. The summary of the objectives behind the formation of the ABU Alumni Association is not in any way different from what obtained in other climes, and this includes;
- Raising the prestige and good name of the University;
- Meditating in times of disputes involving any component of the University; and
- Resources mobilisation from the many distinguished members of the Alumni Association and/or their friends towards augmenting the University management’s expenditure in advancing learning, teaching, research and development and community services in the University.
